ANZAC Parade

ANZAC Parade

Left, left, left right left. Left, left, left right left...  On April the 25th the Pathfinders from Glenn Innes were invited by the Orakei RSA to march in the ANZAC parade and also to march with the other clubs.

On the day our club arrived at the Orakei RSA early so we waited for a long time and talked through what was going to happen and where we were going to march from, while we were there we notice that there was a club that bait us there and they were known as the sea scouts.

10 minutes after we noticed a lot of familiar and unfamiliar uniforms showing up, then we all took group photo together before we were ordered by our leader.  Later on it was time to march and we marched from the Orakei RSA car park to the front of the Orakei RSA sign.  First of all we started with a prayer and then the national anthem, we heard a lot of sad words coming out and also a lot of depressed faces.

Meanwhile after we were dismissed from parade we all gathered in the Orakei bar and had a game of pool table and drank a little like the soldiers back in those days during the war.  It was a long day but also a very sad day for the ones who died for our country and lest we not forget.
