The Stilton and The Cherry Blossom Adventure

The Thea sisters are off to Japan on a cultural program.   While their at kyoto exploring the beautiful cheery blossoms and while their busy admiering it a very important item is stolen from their friend Kumi's family home, but they worked together to retrive the stolen item and at the end the captered the victem and they get to celebrate the Cherry Vlossom togther with their old friends The Stilton

Christmas Drive Though

This weekend I sent Friday, Saturday and Sunday night from 7pm to 9pm doing a Christmas drive through.  The Christmas drive through was to tell people what Christmas is about and what happened on Christmas.  It was a very fun night for everyone and I really enjoyed my part, and my pat was playing a shepherd role.  Shepherds were involved because on Christmas eve a group of shepherds were out on the field looking after their flogs and all of a sudden out of nowhere and angle appeared, and told then about the saviour that was born and thousands of angles appeared and started singing, and that is why shepherds were involved.

Pathfinders Investiture

On Saturday I had my investiture and I was awarded with 6 badges and I got all these badges for working hard on it and completing all my honours.  We had to march into the church and be seated in our seats to start the parade.  After that we invited the whole church to our picnic at Glendawy because we had finished Pathfinders for the year.

Recap on Camp

Here is a collage that I have made about our camp over at the Haunua Ranges last term.  We all enjoyed it and tried out things that we had never done before for example high ropes, raft building and orienteering in the bush.

Know Your Drains!

There are 2 types of drains (see the diagram above):

• Inside drains like your toilet, sinks and washing machine that go to the sewer treatment plant.
• Outside drains like your gutters, driveway drains and roadside stormwater drains that go directly into our streams, lake and beaches without any treatment!  So anything tipped, washed or accidentally spilled into an outside drain will end up in our streams, lake and on our beaches – and then we swim and fish in it!

The Main Message to Get Out There!

• Nothing but clean rainwater should run into stormwater drains.  When chemicals and wastes such as oil, paint, detergents, or even food and green waste (leaves etc.) flow down stormwater drains, they run directly into streams or the sea untreated.  These pollutants can kill fish, shellfish, insects, plants and other living things, as well as polluting the water we swim in!

At the early day of spring
Beyond forest where nightingale will sing

The great river started as a lively spring

The river in tributaries grew
Pushing it way through
Carving canyons and valleys too
So strong on very canvas of earth it drew

But soon this awesome run turns into mild jog
The river winds disappearing somewhere in a fog

My 6 Hats Current Event

Here is my 6 hats based on all the cigarette butts are thrown down the drain and how our Pacific ocean is polluted with water. From reading this article it has made me feel sorry of all the marine wild life because of ll the rubbish that I have thrown down the drain. Hopeful that you've enjoyed reading this and learnt something from it.

Reflecting and Goal Setting

Term 3-4

Reading: This term I learnt more about the New Zealand landforms by reading stories on mountains, finding more facts on the internet and by listening to other peoples story. My reading goal for Term 4 is to read and understand what I am reading and to skim and scan quickly when looking for information. To achieve my goal I will need to keep reading at home and tell someone at home what I am reading.

Writing: This term I learnt more about information reports and working collaboratively to complete it, and also finding more information on the report we were writing and writing it in our own words. My writing goal for Term 4 is to write everything in my own words, keep writing ta home and us for powerful words. To achieve my goal I will need to keep writing at home and ues more powerful words.

Maths: This term I learnt more about fractions, multiplication, division and percentages, for percentages we had to use our times tables and we also used blocks to help us. My maths goal for Term 4 is to listen carefully so I understand what I am going to do and learn my times tables so I know it very well. To achieve my goal I will need to learn my times tables at home and tell someone at home what we did at school so they can help me with something that I am stuck on.

Personal: My personal goal for Term 4 is  to behave more better, listen to the teacher more often and to show good model to young journeys. To achieve my goal I will need to listen, do as what I have been told, learn my times tables, keep reading and to keep writing at home.

Spelling Challenge W5T4

Here is a presentation on my weekly spelling from last week. Last week we had a six spelling words and they were from the article that was about the Panmure bridge and we had to look up these words because we did not know that meaning of it, there were more words but Mrs Anderson choose these words for us because they were hard.

Panmure Bridge

Here is a Google draw based on the first Panmure bridge that was built and about the Panmure bridge that we use now.  Back then it was interesting when they first had the the first swing bridge.  It was very good because farmers could get their milk and crops across on time and they did not have to paddle to get across.  The bridge that we use now is very helpful for people like Mrs Anderson because she does not have to paddle to get to Panmure she could just drive over the without even paying.

Here is a short video about milk in school. It was was really exciting for everyone in the school to have milks in school for the best time ever, the first time when my classroom got given our milk we were really exciting but the hardest thing to do after that was to fold the milk container but we will get used to it.

Here is my homework from the start of this term and that was the first time I had to do my homework online. It was easier for me to do everything online because it was not a waste of time writing in a book and making sure I bring it back on Friday and it did not waste my energy by writing everything by hand, and it was also easier because we could look for the information at the same time we were doing our homework.

5. Drag your photo onto the desktop

1. Click on the spotlight

2. Type in “photoshop”

3. Click on adobe photoshop cs4

4. Click on file then open

5. click on the desktop icon

6. Choose the picture view

7. Click on the photo of yourself

8. Click on open

9. Click on window then workspace then essentials (default)

10. DRag the background layer into the create a new layer icon which is next to the mini rubbish bin

11. Change the opacity of the background copy layer to 80%

12. Click on the background layer and close the eye on the left to make the layer invisible

13. Click on the create a new layer icon

14. You should have three layers

15. Make sure that you are click onto layer one (it should be highlighted in blue)

16. Drag the bottom right hand corner of the image to stretch it out.

17. Click on the zoom button (magnifying glass) in te left tool bar, to zoom into the image.

18. Click on the option key and zoom button to zoom out of the image.

19. Click on the brush tool in the left tool  bar.

20. Change the brush size to three in the menu bar.

21. Set the foreground colour to black and click on ok.

22. Use the brush tool to draw the outline of your photo including face, facial features, clothes and hair.

23. Click on the paint bucket tool in the left tool bar.

24. Set the foreground color to the colour you want to use.

25. Use the paint bucket to fill in different part of you sketch.

26. Click on file then save as.

27. Make sure to save your sketch to the desktop.

28. Make sure that you are logged in to your google drive.

29. Click on the upload button.

30. Click on file and then locate your sketch on the desktop.

31. Click on open.
